The above training is a high quality and tough practical programme (unlike the conventional theoretical and easygoing class room training ).
Objective : To impart practical laboratory training to participants on Laboratory diagnosis of malaria primarily using Microscopy
Expectations : It is expected that at the end of the course a participant
1. Has adequate knowledge about the malaria parasite’s morphology, life cycle.
2. Has adequate knowledge about the materials required and functioning of a malaria diagnostic laboratory along with its safety and maintenance.
3. Has appropriate knowledge and skill to handle patients for lab methods.
4. Knows the correct procedure of blood collection, preservation and dispatch.
5. Has knowledge of the structure, function, use and maintenance of microscope.
6. Is able to examine the stained blood smear under microscope and identify malaria parasite, artifacts, blood cells.
7. Is able to report any blood smear for malaria independently.
Duration :
1. For in the same job persons, not less than 30 working days
2. For fresh candidates, 6 months
Eligibility :
1. Ideally Bio-Science graduates
2. For NGOs in India, willing to train their workers grass root level health workers are also encouraged to undergo such training but should have appropriate receptive capacity and basic knowledge of English.
Course fee :
Rs.4,000.00 per candidate per month(1 month course)
Rs.3,000.00 per candidate per month for longer courses
The course fee includes practical teaching and training materials and also products of training (positive slides etc.) which the candidates are allowed to carry back as reference.
Accommodation and food :
Candidate’s own arrangement.
