Objective

OBJECTIVES OF CENTROMAP

  1. To establish resource centres for tropical and communicable diseases, research and training for the clinical, laboratory and field health workers engaged mainly in the non-Government sector.

  2. To undertake research in Tropical Diseases with the object of controlling tropical and communicable diseases for the benefit of the people at large.

  3. To extend welfare to the people of the region, through improved health care delivery including diagnostic facilities and treatment, both indoor & outdoor in the field of tropical and communicable diseases with particular emphasis on Malaria, Kala-azar, Tuberculosis, Leprosy, Encephalitis, Anemia including those due to Thalassaemia, Worm infection & AIDS.

  4. To establish a training and consultative centre for Geographical and Travel medicine.

  5. To undertake disease control activities in the field of Tropical Diseases, in 
    collaboration with Govt. sector, NGO or alone.

  6. To encourage participation of the people in the programmes of tropical and communicable diseases' control through the improved awareness and education. 

  7. To establish a herbal medicinal plantation (Herbal garden) in the district of Mayurbhanj , Orissa and to undertake research related to the indigenous Drug (Traditional Medicine) development. 

  8. To arrange and organize Conferences, Seminars, Workshops and Training courses both National as well as International, related to Tropical and communicable diseases for man power development and as a part of the Centre's academic exercise.

  9. To publish books and periodic Scientific Journal in the field of Tropical and Communicable Diseases, Research and Control.
